Chrome Extension

Privacy Policy — Navigator

Navigator does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Everything stays in your browser.

Last updated: March 2026

Data Collection

All data is stored locally in your browser using:

chrome.storage.local

Layout configuration, shortcuts, preferences, and display settings

chrome.bookmarks API

Read-only access to your Chrome bookmarks for folder display

Permissions

bookmarks

Read bookmark folders for display in boxes

topSites

Show most visited sites for shortcut suggestions

storage

Store layout, shortcuts, preferences locally

search

Submit search queries using Chrome's default search engine via Chrome Search API

Third-Party Services

The extension fetches favicons from https://www.google.com/s2/favicons to display website icons. No user data is sent in these requests — only the domain name.

Search queries are submitted directly to the selected search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, etc.) via standard browser form submission. The extension does not intercept or store search queries.

Inter-Extension Communication

Navigator can optionally communicate with BookSync via Chrome's externally_connectable API. This is used only to receive bookmark tags and descriptions from BookSync. No data leaves the browser.
